Yesteryear Collection

France experimented with air ambulances from the early days of military flight.
Escadrille MS 3 is a well-known French flying unit in WWI.
French military surgeon Dr. Eugene Chassaing adapted aircraft to carry stretchers in 1918, and later converted dozens of planes into air ambulances in colonial campaigns.

⚠ 'MS 3' refers to the Morane-Saulnier-equipped Escadrille 3 in WWI (a combat unit), not a dedicated air ambulance unit.
